This is your chance to give our homeless animals in need a wonderful holiday present by donating your old phones and other electronic devices. If you have any cell phones, iPods, laptops, gaming systems or digital cameras you are no longer using, PLEASE DONATE THEM TO SAUK COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY by January 14th! All personal information will be professional data cleared. We depend on fundraisers and donations to help provide comfort and care to our shelter animals, and this is a great way for you to help us! January 4, 2014 – Candlelight Ski, Hike & Snowshoe, 6:00 – 8:00 PM. The Friends of Mirror Lake and Mirror Lake State Park. We will have 2 easy 1-mile trails lit by torches? 1 for skiers and 1 for everyone to enjoy. The Park Friends will offer hot food and beverages available for purchase to enjoy around roaring bonfires. wisconsin-events-snowmobile-certificationJanuary 13 – 14, 18, 2014 – Snowmobile Safety Course sponsored by Baraboo River Runners Snowmobile Club 6:00 -8:00 pm, 8:00 am – Noon. This class is offered by the Wisconsin DNR and instructed by local club members. Snowmobile course requirements – Any person who is born on or after Jan. 1, 1985 and who has reached the age of 12, must have completed and received a snowmobile safety certificate in order to operate a snowmobile in Wisconsin. The certificate must be carried while operating the snowmobile and displayed to a law enforcement officer upon demand. This does not apply to the operation of snowmobiles upon lands owned or leased by the operator’s parent or guardian. Leased lands do not include lands leased by an organization of which said operator or the operator’s parent or guardian is a member. No person under the age of 12 may operate a snowmobile unless the person is accompanied either by a parent or guardian or by a person over 18 years of age. Accompanied means to be on the same snowmobile as the operator. Course information - Safety course consists of six hours of basic instruction in the principles of snowmobile safety. The course is comprised of six hours of classroom study and an optional two hours of hands-on snowmobile operation or optional snowmobile ride simulation. Length of course – This course requires a minimum of eight hours but may be longer depending on the instructor and the student’s learning ability. The Sauk County Humane Society (SCHS) and Monk’s Bar & Grill At The Wilderness are teaming up to host a Euchre Tournament! The best part is, you don’t need a partner to come! Avoid the feeling of cabin fever and join us for an afternoon of 10 games of Euchre! The top four individuals with the highest score will win prizes!
